Hey, I’m Becca.

And this is a collection of my projects and passions; Ukraine, mental health, and Veterans.

If you are looking for a traditional mental health training, you have come to the wrong place. If you are tired of boring PowerPoints and rated PG speakers, I am the trainer you are looking for.

My Projects

Ukraine - The Spicy American

From April through December, with a short US break in October, I live in Kyiv, where I volunteer on a variety of projects. I am a financial supporter of every group with which I also volunteer my time.

Mental health has always been my Main Quest in Ukraine; I am advocating for the start of a Veteran peer support training program, so that Peer Support can become a recognized medical technician role in Ukraine. I also teach traumatic stress after care classes to soldiers and medics, and wellness trainings to civilian healthcare providers.

I also have many Side Quests; from the beginning I wanted to feel tangibly helpful to the war effort, so at least twice a year I deliver trucks, drones and medical equipment directly to military units by driving in convoys. I also coordinate directly with the 50 States for Ukraine campaign and lead the Arizona fundraising campaign.

USA - Spicy Speaker Training

From January through April, I live in Arizona. As a subject matter expert in military mental health programs, I offer a variety of free wellness, prevention and postvention trainings to any Veteran, First Responder, or Military agency in both locations.

My most impactful presentation is a Postvention training, which I offer completely free of cost to any Law Enforcement agency who has lost someone to suicide. Learn how to support the unit, the family, and the community after a suicide.

Every April and October, I attend the Ukraine Action Summit in Washington, DC, to advocate for Ukraine directly to my Congressional Representatives and Senators. If you have not yet attended, I highly recommend getting involved.

Feedback From Attendees

Thank you very much for teaching the suicide prevention class for the WAATS facility. Honestly the best suicide class I have had in my 18 years of service. You are awesome!

AZ National Guard Soldier

I took the ASIST training a couple of years ago and it was intense! I learned so much from you Rebecca!

The role play exercise is the most memorable moment for me, even knowing it was not real, I got choked up! You were so encouraging and offered immediate feedback that was much appreciated!

Since taking the class I have sat with two individuals, one being severe enough that we spent several hours together formulating a safety plan, making phone calls, setting up someone to meet him at home to remove weapons, etc. I would not have been as well prepared had I not have taken the ASIST class.

Thank you for all that you do!

  • Yes. I will train any Veteran, military or LEO unit for free, and most first responder groups as well. Free trainings include sarcasm, dark humor, and profanity.

But sometimes no. If your group contains civilians, or you do not want sarcasm, dark humor, or profanity included, those trainings are not free. Please feel free to send me an email so we can discuss my availability and prices.

  • There is no minimum or maximum, but each training presents differently to different sized audiences.

In general, the smaller the group, the better the discussion. These trainings are most effective at a squad level, but I've also taught an entire battalion with good discussion and positive feedback.
